With a compact 3.5″ touch screen the Tom Tom start classic features IQ routes which uses data from other Tom Tom users to accurately predict the duration in hours and minutes of your journey. It features advanced lane guidance, with the use of arrows and voice prompts and comprehensive maps, it will guide you into the correct lane and through complex junctions, This Tom Tom also features spoken street names as well as pictorial guidance enabling you to negotiate your way around more easily. It will alert you to speed traps warning you of approaching speed cameras and saving you that speed ticket and also keep you informed of the speed limit.

The Tom Tom start classic has a 2 GB memory which some said was too small to incorporate Western European maps. However it is possible to find the data space by deleting unwanted extras such as foreign commentary and a little fiddling. The deleted items can then be downloaded again from Tom Tom home, provided you have backed up your device, once you are home. A word of warning though, be sure to update your maps before setting off to Europe. This Tom Tom has 22 European countries available. It has a detachable car mount and dim switch for night driving. It has a few fun accessories to entertain the children too with a variety of voices.

To add points of interest to your Tom Tom download Tom Tom home on your computer and you can then add up to 48 points of interest such as railway stations, airports, restaurants and theatres which you are likely to use on your way. This sat nav has the most up to date maps possible and will goide you along motorways giving you your exit in plenty of time and warning you in advance which lane you should be in.. It covers primary, secondary and residential roads giving you street names as well as pointers on the map. You would have to purchase map updates annually.
